POODLE makes it possible to decrypt and read content (some bytes) in plain text as a man in the middle. You may disable SSLv3 in assp to prevent this. In this case, ALL connections (clients) that want to use SSLv3 are processed completely unencrypted by assp.
IMHO it is useless to force a POODLE attack against SMTPS. If you want to fully secure your mails, use SMIME encryption. SO , it is better to less secure the mail transport , than NOT to secure the mail transport - DON'T care about POODLE related to assp!
