Perhaps I'm not understanding something, but have you tested the configuration 
that bypasses ASSP? If Kerio is rejecting the bad address with a 550, that's 
the same thing ASSP is doing via the Validate Local module. In other words I'd 
expect the same behavior even if the client is connecting directly to Kerio.
