Leaving it in test-mode doesn't "train" ASSP - *you* train ASSP by feeding it inbound and outbound mail, and reporting errors. Test-mode only allows ASSP to process mail, but not block it - which is helpful for while you are "training" it, so that ASSP doesn't block false-positives during the training phase. A gigabyte?! My spam.db is 5.3 megabytes.
