Let me explain my mode of thinking a little better.

If assp says green I think "ok it let that through" and when I
see red I think "ok assp thinks that it's spam".

I understand the green = positive and red = negative it just
makes more sense to me to be the other way around.

If a message is positive that's bad or red.
If a message is negative that's good or green.

Does this make sense?

I'm looking at it from the perspective that i want the email I'm
analyzing to be green.

Something like a big "SPAM" or "NOT SPAM" overall indicator perhaps?

They are.
The point of a UI is to convey information that the user wants/needs,
if we can make it convey that faster/better then i'm all for it.
