This is very interesting, Michael, because I agree, Bayesian based systems definitely have always seemed to have problems in my experience (start out pretty good, then go downhill from there), and maybe what you are describing is the precise reason for it. It would be awesome if you could find the time to write up a little how-to for this and put it up on the wiki (or have you done so already?), complete with some example regex's that you have found to help.
