This sounds like a job for %TEMP%...

You can change the temp path in the clamd.conf file.
"C:\Program Files\clamAV\conf\clamd.conf"
The option is called "TemporaryDirectory" (you can just search the file 
for that)

I will add a note for win2k users. (it's been a while since I used it)
