I agree- even the writers of the MTA do- It's my home mail server running a
VERY old version of FTGate mail server (2.2). Why do I still run it? It's
stable and low maintenance and it will archive out ALL emails to it's own
flat file with a new directory for each day. I have these going back to
1998. It looks like I did the original install in August 1998, this is on an
NT4 workstation originally installed on 14th October 1996. Prior to that I
was running NT3.51 on a 486dx33 with 8Mb ram.

It used to run ATGuard as the firewall before McAfee brought it, then TinyPF
before the Kerio split and now KerioPF version 2.1.5 so it was the same as
my 2k laptop. Yes- it is behind another firewall- a bridge running OpenBSD.

Why do I still run it? It's stable and fast, it's got 7.8Gb of my email on
it. I keep meaning to move over to an ASSP/exim/procmail/IMAP/Webmail setup
on OpenBSD but haven't found the time yet. Yes, I have lots of other/faster
boxes here but it just sits here on my 8 way KVM doing my mail.
