I'm sorry, I *WAS* trying to be encouraging. I was welcoming the level of
detail in the article. You expressed a concern that it was too detailed. I'm
saying that it's not too detailed. Indeed, more detail would be even better.

Perhaps it's a difference in language. You speak American, I speak English
;-) Maybe I just express myself badly.

Thank you. I tried to make two constructive suggestions: -

1 Mention the two cases of termination of a session: -
a Message is passed to MTA, session completes normally with QUIT
command
b ASSP aborts session, session with MTA times out
2 Mention the addition of body content to the various directories.

directly

Thank you for the invitation. I'm not sure that I know enough about ASSP
yet, but I'll have a go, with pleasure. I see that you have addressed the
first issue with: -

"If at any point in the SMTP connection and/or transaction ASSP disconnects
the client the MTA will be send a QUIT message"

The original documentation (jhanna in
http://assp.sourceforge.net/fom/cache/62.html) says:

"If you're not in test-mode the connection to your "SMTP Destination" is
dropped if it is spam, and when the client stops spewing the mail body, it
gets the "spam error" message, and it's (sic) connection is dropped. (In
test mode the connection is completed and ASSP sends updated headers.)"

I don't know which is correct. Any advice?

I have updated the wiki page (first time I've done this!) for the second
issue.

Don't we all, and I appreciate the effort made by all.

That's not terribly encouraging, but I'll continue to try. The article
*is* incomplete (as it disclaims) and there hasn't been a resource like it
before - so myself and other contributers are working from scratch,
monitoring behavior and examining the code as we go. The question of
processing order has repeatedly come up over the years, yet has never had a
definitive answer or resource.

As Kevin succinctly pointed out - we have day jobs - but we are trying.
Any article that is incomplete is indicated as such - similar to the spirit
of the Wikipedia.

I welcome your opinion, and any contributions you or anyone else would care
to make - preferably constructive ones. Feel free to create an account on
the wiki and contribute to articles directly or ponder their usefulness on
the discussion pages.
