Hi Doug,

I think you need to be more precise in what you are looking for. Most of 
the ones you mention below are full blown Groupware servers, which is 
MUCH more than just a 'mail server'.

Are you looking for just an MTA/SMTP server? I much prefer Postfix for 
its speed and security.

I like Dovecot for my IMAP/POP (though I don't use POP) server.

There's a neat paid application called PowerMsg, for $49, but it 
requires its sister program, that uses both, but it also requires its 
siste program, PowerSMB (a neat Setup, Administration and Monitoring 
suite for Samba and OpenLDAP):
