Hi All I would like to add to this issue since upgrading to the latest version 1.2.5(2) version I'm having to restart or wait until assp starts working again.
My platform is a linux using a current version of active perl. I also had an issue today where some remote email address from particular ip addresses would get dropped as soon as the connection was made. A restart fixed this issue.
