I'll do the update of ASSP, I didn't had the time for doing anything related to this server since a few months, the error I did is that I switched the OS and Data on a new disk in this server like a month or 2 ago and I didn't did it really nicely, so I end up with a c:\ drive and e:\, e: being my System disc and c:\ still have somes applications running on and I never had the time to switch everythings like it should be. Anyways, I don't really known why rebuildspam hadn't worked since a few weeks, but anyways, now I had the problem I said. Finally I started the rebuild yesterday, but It didn't ended up and this morning I had to shut it down, since the server was mostly not responding to any requests and this is my terminal server and also Isa server providing Internet and fowarding ips...
The system's running Windows 2000 SP4, with exchange 2000 with latest Service packs/hot fixes Assp's doesn't run on another user and it had worked before, so this isn't my problem. Another problem is now that I have like 180k files in folders, windows doesn't handle really nicely that much files, so I must find a way to reduce the number of thoses files... anyways, it was just to give a little feedback, but I'll work on this today. At least, I hope I'll have the time to.. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Kevin Sent: 7 novembre, 2006 17:01 To: Questions and Answers for users of ASSP Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy Subject: Re: [Assp-user] Rebuildspam error Maxime Frenette wrote: > It's looks like there's another problem, since I didn't had the time to > follow up > the mail server with assp since some times... I would at least upgrade to 1.2.4 if not 1.2.5. Secondly are you running ASSP under it's own account? If so are you trying to rebuild the spamdb as a different user? Does that different user have full rights to the ASSP files? As for that spam directory.... Under "Other Settings" what are "Max Files" & "Max Bytes" set to? also Under 'SPAM Control" is "UseSubjectsAsMaillogNames" enabled? If so disable it. That setting is for use only in testing. If enabled it prevents ASSP from being able to correctly manage the amount of files saved in the corpus. Could you please let me know what OS you are running on as this will determine what commands you should run to delete some of those corpus files before trying to rebuild the spamdb again.
