Symlinks are one way to go. However we are accomplishing what we need
for now via sed modifications to assp.pl and others. If assp.pl doesn't
change to much should be minimal maintenance. However it would be more
ideal if some of the values were respected. Like

logfile:=/var/log/assp/maillog.txt
pidfile:=/var/run/assp/asspd.pid

But all in all I am pretty pleased. Once I mentioned the issue here.
Another user working on a ebuild for ASSP on Gentoo got in touch with
me. Together we got most all things resolved. So I committed the
combined ebuild to the portage tree. Should be available on mirrors in a
few hours.

So kinda a buried announcement for those who care :) But ASSP 1.2.5 is
available on Gentoo Linux, as soon as mirrors sync. It's not going to be
stable for 30 days or so baring any bugs. So it will have to be
keyworded ~amd64 or ~x86 to be used. But then one can emerge assp.
