I downloaded 1.2.6 and copied it over the 1.2.5(2) assp.pl then 
restarted the service but it crashes with no error message within seconds :

There doesn't appear to be anything useful in the logs to show why it's 
crashing? I've reinstated 1.2.5(2) for now and it's stable again - I'm 
guessing there's a setting in the config that's been added and doesn't 
like an empty setting?
