It's would be no worse than the defaults that come with ASSP.  At least like
this, it gives newcomers (and oldcomers?) a chance to see what others are
doing / using, and perhaps get some more ideas & insights from them.  There
will obviously never be a consensus, but at least it gives a forum for
people to share the information, and leave it up to the individual to figure
out what is best for his organization.

I personally, haven't started blocking extensions yet, but when I start, I
think I would find it very helpful to see what other admins have found to be
effective solutions for their environments.
