Being yet another Mac user and Mac administrator, I have to add to the
discussion that when a Mac loses it's clock it is usually caused by the
motherboard battery dying, then the mac being unplugged. This causes the
date to revert back to January 1, 1904. It doesn't have anything to do with
clueless users - but getting infected by spambots often does. I don't think
there are any spambots for the mac...

I think adding the ability to set a range of dates (like accept no mail with
the date XXX number of days from current date) could be useful.
