Has anyone played extensively with their PB setup to optimize the settings?

I think that there are probably two choices here- based on the
PenaltyUseNetblocks setting to either Penalise the individual address or the
whole Class C Network Block.

When set to use the whole block, the settings need to be quite high to
prevent hair-trigger responses, and I suspect that there may be some fallout
as you would be blocking other address that have never sent spam. I am
guessing that this method will become less useful as spammers are increasing
their use of zombie machines where they would only have one machine per
block.

When penalising the individual addresses, what settings are people finding
useful? I think that the default settings are too tolerant for a small
setup.

Would future developments to the greylist be based on PB scoring? John Hanna
never wanted to discuss how the greylist worked- where did it collect it's
info and how did it protect against spoof attacks?

It is still useful- if you look at some of the higher scoring addresses on
SpamHaus those blocks are still run by spammers. The whole united stand
really appeals to me. I just wish that delaying could be made more
intelligent so it was front loaded with the likely spamieness of an address
until the RBL's catch up.
