I run Exchange 2003. I relay off of my own server so that outbound mail
is proxied through ASSP. My configuration/setup is just about identical
to what is detailed here:

<http://www.asspsmtp.org/wiki/Microsoft_Exchange#HOWTO:_Microsoft_Exchange_Server_2003_.2B_ASSP_on_Single_Box_using_Virtual_Servers>

This has been a flawless mail-flow setup until I upgraded to 1.2.7.7
yesterday. Now I am frequently seeing messages stuck in my outbound
queue (destined for the relay virtual server, AKA waiting to proxy
through ASSP). Attempting to force (force an immediate retry) the
connection does not work UNLESS I restart ASSP. Prior to the restart,
the messages will not transmit. Afterward, when forcing the connection
they go right out - at least for a little while - until it happens again.

Unless I force the connection, the message stay in queue per the retry
settings for outbound queued mail on my server. So I can only guess
that since upgrading to 1.2.7.7 I have introduced a connectivity issue
between my default virtual server and my relay virtual server -a
connectivity issue that appears to be in ASSP's relay functionality.

Has anyone else noticed any similar behavior? I have not made any other
changes to my mail servers config, so I am fairly confident that a bug
or configuration issue has been introduced with this recent version of ASSP.

Thanks,

- Micheal
