Hi all We're using ASSP for one week now - and it is the tool of our choice; we almost got rid of spam!
Now, because we have to run different configurations (different smtp destinations for example) I want to install more than one instance on our proxy machine and invoke the right one by using the appropriate IP it is listening to. Because some of the Domains are really small, I want them to share the SpamDB with our main-domain, so everything is identical except for the conf-file and the logs (I guess - I'm I wrong?). Did somebody did such a thing? What do you suggest: using assp "as normal", but with symlinks instead of real files except for conf/mail? (I'm using Linux.) Other suggestions? Or simply share spam-, notspam-, error-folders, whitelist and build the spamdb for each instance? (What else data is needed for building the spamdb?) Another question in this context: could an installation like this increase load capacity when using machines with more than one CPU? What is the bottleneck of ASSP when reaching high load? File parsing (such as whitelist - could be resolved with mysql), mail processing (in this case, this would help), something else? Thanks for any help.
