Personally I run local MySQL servers on both my ASSP servers (15mb or so 
ram usage) and have MySQL setup in a Master-Master config so changes are 
replicated between the two boxes almost instantly.
I decided on this rather than a central server because I can't justify 
setting up a cluster just for ASSP but the local servers will at least 
keep one server running if the other dies.
