don't look at cpu usage, that's not a real problem unless you have 100% for a long ( >some_timeout) time. Just consider the average load. My rule of thumb is to keep avg CPU usage below 30% if don't have all SMTP session limits active and fine tuned, and dare to have an avg cpu usage up to 70% if you are sure that your session limits, local user validation ecc. are all sharp tuned.
