noProcessing currently matches: full address, username only, or entire @domain. I use the NP features extensively, and I wonder if it might be more appropriate to treat noProcessing the same way that we do with whiteListedDomains. Since, NPs also have the npRe, it seems to me that more could be accomplished by having noProcessing be used in the same manner as whiteListedDomain or even perhaps if a new NP list for e.g. npListedDomains could be created.
Here's a recent example to illustrate why I am asking this: In the US, we have a nationwide service called 1-800-FLOWERS. They own the domain 1800flowers.com. As with other domains that I NP, I have seen and have had to deal with an evolution of emailing practices from them: @b.1800flowers.chtah.com (serviced by cheetahmail.com) @1800flowers.com @b.1800flowers.com @e.1800flowers.com @b.e.1800flowers.com (current) This is actually (2) examples of why changing the use of noProcessing would be great. 1.) NP listing .chtah.com alleviates having to address ANY of the hundreds of legit clients that use Cheetah Mail as a distribution service all in one shot. 2.) having .1800flowers.com alleviates the need for any additional administration when they decide to change the addressing again. Now I realize that some of these things can be accomplished in the npRe. In fact, thats is what I do now. But it seems wasteful to me, when the noProcessing list I think could be used in a much more effective way than to what I have to type out in regex's. And if you need to just match a part of the address (e.g. username only), well then thats what the npRe should be for - right? Thanks for giving this some thought. Its not like anything is broken.
