What version are you using exactly?
If you go back to the stable 1.3.1 does it still happen?

Umm... a LONG time ago. 1.1.2 to be exact according to the code.
Przemek was the one who wrote it btw, not Fritz.(originally)

I warn you, if you attempt to search large log files it WILL cause ASSP 
to go non-responsive for a while. I would not go past the "Last two log 
files" setting if you are high/med volume.

I can't say I've seen the same behavior.

Could you post your Changed Defaults output perhaps? (remove passwords!)
