Sorry | for the basic questions, new to ASSP and Linux:) Starting CPAN will inter alia download an up-to-date package list, which you can search for your keywords with the 'i' command in CPAN The list of packages is given on the first page in the INSTALL file you'll get if you download the current ASSP distribution from Sourceforge You need to install the development and development libraries groups from the Centos distribution to get gcc header files and useful libraries, though with experience you will learn which bits you can exclude. I don't recommend a cut-down Centos to start this with -- I've just been doing that on Centos 5.0, and I had trouble getting some of the packages to update, yet I have rather too many years experience with this -- try Fedora as a slightly friendlier starting environment. -- Andrew Macpherson, OA5.com Ltd.
