Hi,

Here's my current setup:

Inbound:
Internet --> ASSP --> SurfControl Email Filter --> Exchange 2003
(back-end)

Outbound:
Exchange 2003 (back-end) --> Exchange 2003 (front-end) --> ASSP -->
SurfControl Email Filter --> Internet
(I don't really need to use the front-end Exchange. As part of my
troubleshooting, I threw it into the loop (the result is the same).
Normally, the front-end Exchange is not used for outbound; only OWA.)

My Front-end Exchange hosts nothing but empty mailbox and public folder
stores.

Regardless, if the front-end weren't in the outbound loop, the public
folder synchronization emails still get stuck in ASSP. Why would these
emails get stuck in ASSP when normal emails (which take the same path)
don't? Again, if I bypass ASSP and go directly to my SurfControl
server, it does not get hung up. It gets happily passed along back to
my Back-end Exchange server.

Regards,
Brett

Is your ASSP in front of your front end Exchange? Or is it intercepting
between the front end and back end Exchange? If you use your front end
Exchange to proxy for both your SMTP and OWA, I would suggest putting
ASSP in front of your Front End exchange and then port forward HTTPS for
OWA to your Front End.
