you mean did i disable the outbound firewall in endian?
yes

i can telnet out from the assp server to port 25 at ISP
I can telnet out from the Exchange server to port 225 on the assp server 
and the ISP responds because ASSP is inline doing the translation.

all that changed is the linksys for the endian box
no settings on exchange or assp, no gateway or other changes
sometimes the messages get out hours later...
wierd
