OK lets take two of my domain names

Internet -----delivers to------exim------
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- delivers (via smtp_route) to
91.84.158.210 (MS Exchange)
Internet -----delivers to------exim------
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- delivers locally
Internet -----delivers to------exim------
[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- delivers (via smtp_route) to
82.70.35.158 (MS Exchange)

That's the incoming domain names, now for outgoing

91.84.158.210 (MS Exchange) ------ uses exim as a smarthost and then
routes to the internet
Localhost ------------------------ uses exim
82.70.35.158 --------------------- uses exim as a smarthost and then
routes to the internet

I am using Exim 4 on a CPanel server with Spam Assassin configured, but
if I can do this with ASSP then I am more than happy to, I have an smtp
route defined in Exim as thus

deliver_clean:
  driver = manualroute
  transport = remote_smtp
  route_data = ${lookup{$domain}lsearch{/etc/exim/mail-routes}}

the contents of /etc/exim/mail-routes is as follows

servtec.co.uk: 91.84.158.210
coreoperations.net: 91.84.158.210
coreoperations.co.uk: 91.84.158.210
telfordlife.co.uk: 91.84.158.210
shaw-miller.co.uk: 91.84.158.210
shaw-miller.com: 91.84.158.210
staffordshirebuddies.net: 82.70.35.158
staffordshirebuddies.co.uk: 82.70.35.158
mesmen.co.uk: 82.70.35.158

All other traffic would route locally if the mailbox was on the server.
I don't need it to check for the existence of mail users as occasionally
I will send from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and it will reject it as it cant find
[EMAIL PROTECTED] - as the mailbox doesn't exist, its
just routing through exim, nothing more.

I can potentially specify a different outgoing port for Exim, but I
still need email filtered for spam, etc.

Thoughts?

On the exim list they would send you this link:
http://wiki.exim.org/DontObfuscate

I see no point obfuscating in your case and it makes it unlikely anyone
could help you.

Is this exim3 or exim4?

If your clients use an MUA to directly submit mail to your smarthost and

used something like smtp authentication, then set up exim to listen on
port 587 for that. Tell exim to route the mail to assp's relay port,
tell assp to route mail received on its relay port to another smarthost
which will then send it out to the internet or locally. If you allowed
them to relay based on their IP then make sure those IPs are configured
in assp to be allowed to relay and they can submit to assp.

The former solution, smtp authentication (with TLS) on port 587 is the
most ideal.

Greetings,
Jeroen
