Did that really say @thisdomain.com, or are you obfuscating? If you have
to obfuscate then there are reserved domains for that such as
example.com: http://rfc.net/rfc2606.html

Reminds me of this article about, I believe, the "noreply.com" domain.
The owner would be receiving all kinds of emails sent to him/her because
companies were careless and used that domain as a noreply address. Of
course many people still reply to a noreply address, inadvertently
revealing sensitive information.
Just to say, assuming some made up domain does not exist and thus will
be fine to use as an example can cause serious problems. The ASSP
documentation and configuration tool is full of such bad examples.
