I see no reason why ASSP should reject invalid recipients when the MTA 
does an excellent job doing that. And since ASSP is a proxy the 
rejection is at smtp time, not after first allowing the email and then 
bouncing.

I'd say a silent redirect to /dev/null can be a fair treatment if the 
offending source is way too persistent and way too frequent, or just a 
complete ban of all network traffic from that IP(block).
