Hello, I have completed installation of ASSP on Windows 2000 Server.  I am able
to get the
interface to come  up with "perl assp.pl" and check the box to run this as a
service.
When I register this as a service using either the "perl assp.pl -i" command or
the perl
addservice.pl (pathway) command I can see the service in control panel services
list, but
it will not start giving me timeout message.

1.  I modified the assp.cfg file "runasservice=" to "runasservice=1" to no
avail.
2.  I've tried the "addservice.pl" file as well as the "assp.pl" file to no
avail.
3.  I've tried it with the assp interface running.  Without it running.
4.  I've installed and uninstalled a dozen times rebooting between.
5.  I've modified the pathway in the Image File registry value.

In addition, when I go back to start the ASSP interface with the "perl assp.pl"
command, I have to
delete the config file in order to get it to start up or it gives me an error
message that
I'm trying to write a value to a read-only value in the script.  (Low
growl...)

My head did come out of the monitor thankfully without major injury, but I'm
stumped here.
I am sure I did the install correctly, but I'm no perl expert.  I am about 12
hours into this
install with dozens of reboots, uninstalls, directory changes etc.  I should
have flunked
out of college and smoked pot for all the good I'm doing with this.

Please forgive me my errant ways.  I put the sweat equity in on this before
asking.
