I am trying to configure ASSP to be able to restart itself. Running on Ubuntu 10.4, I have ASSP set to Run ASSP as a Daemon, and the user is unprivileged (not root). It seems that in this configuration ASSP cannot start itself up, although it can shut itself down.
I've tried variations on the standard command to start ASSP: perl /usr/share/assp/assp.pl 2>&1 > /dev/null & Is this just not possible? Does ASSP need to be running as root to be able to restart itself? -- Mark Edwards Audiovisual Coordinator & IT Assistant Contemporary Jewish Museum 736 Mission Street San Francisco, CA 94103 direct line: 415.655.7802 fax: 415.655.7815 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
