A potentially useful feature comes to mind regarding blacklisting for domains with lots of legitimate or non-blacklisted mail traffic:
Currently, ASSP can be configured to cache RBL hits for a user-configurable amount of time. This is great for those of us who receive large amounts of spam traffic and takes a load off of the RBL providers. It might be nice if ASSP could cache RBL "misses" for a different user-configurable amount of time. This would reduce the load on RBL providers when multiple legitimate emails are received from the same IP addresses/netblocks. The downside of doing this - if ASSP receives an email from a spamming IP that is not yet listed in the RBL, it will delay the blocking of mail from that IP until the cache timeout is reached. As a result I would suggest making the timeout specification in minutes rather than hours. Whitelisting might make this feature less of a benefit but it could potentially still be quite useful for certain installations.
