You can filter also outboud mail with ASSP if your machines
already got infected so they don't send spam outside. - Makes
also sense to scan your outbound mail for spammers too.

You could put together ASSP with a ClamAV if you want to scan your mails
for Viruses or relay the mails to e.g. a Postfix + AMaVis if you want to
let the mails being scanned also by a commercial scan engine.
(AMaVis can work with ClamAV as well - but also with others - be careful 
then about licensing)

Nonetheless - you won't have a guarantee for not being infected anymore :-/
