That depends on why it is blocked. If it is just classified as SPAM and
not because the sender is blacklisted or the email appears to be a spam
bomb etc. Then the sender will get a error message generated by their
mail server that includes the message from ASSP that is found under the
"SPAM Control" section of ASSP in the "Spam Error" text.

Many of the sections of ASSP include a place where you can add text to
an error that will be generated by the senders email server. Look for
areas in the ASSP interface where you can add text to error messages in
sections that say "Error" or "Reply".

Sections that have a place you can add text to a message that the sender
will receive are; SPAM control, Relaying, Validate recipients, IP
Blocking, Delaying/Greylisting, DNSBL, URIBL, Attachment Blocking,
ClamAV, and Regex/Bombs. Most of these currently have the proper mail
server error code in them and some text as to the nature of the error
but you can add whatever you want to the message. However depending on
how the senders email server is configured it may or may not include all
of the text you add so for most of these options I would leave the
default.

The one exception being the "Spam Error" message which can instruct a
alternate method of contact in case of false positive.

Hope that helps.

Subject: [Assp-user] What do block "spam" senders get in reply.

Hello,

I was wondering, if someone sends us mail and it gets blocked as spam
is it just silently drop or do they get a "This is considered spam"
type reply. If the latter is it possible to add so information to this
reply, e.g. "Please try this web form for other contact details"

Thanks,

 Dave.
