Thank you. I still seem to have a problem with the TLS connection. I
have now backed out to 1.8.5.7 and everything works fine. All of the
1.8.5.8 versions don't work for me any more. I then proceeded to test
my connection through port 465 with openssl using the command

 openssl s_client -crlf -connect localhost:465

and didn't get what I expected, got this

 CONNECTED(00000003)
 140129075574592:error:140770FC:SSL
 routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol:s23_clnt.c:699:
 ---
 no peer certificate available
 ---
No client certificate CA names sent
 ---
SSL handshake has read 7 bytes and written 113 bytes
 ---
 New, (NONE), Cipher is (NONE)
 Secure Renegotiation IS NOT supported
 Compression: NONE
 Expansion: NONE

 any clues please?

 Thanks

 Paul
