Is it a bug ? Possibly yes - the behavior depends on the config and the
speed of the used database (and some others).
This is fixed:
-------------------
2012-07-20
fixed in assp 2.2.2 build 12202:
- it was possible that building the 'WhiteOrg' hash from the
Senderbase-Cache has taken very long at
an assp startup (if the SB-Cache was very large or the DB was slow) -
this will be possibly happen one more time after upgrading to this
version
- it was possible to see stucking workers (in Senderbase Check) because of
too many concurrent updates to the database
changed:
- if 'debug' or 'DataBaseDebug' is set to 'ON' a debug file is written to
'debug/sql_import...txt', which
contains all SQL statements used to import a database
- the Senderbase-Cache is changed - it contains now much less records -
all in CIDR notation
added:
- The Perl module update procedure now writes a logfile in
'notes/upgraded_Perl_Modules.log
-------------------
There are still some new or changed features in the dev version 2.2.2,
which requires some more testing. I think in the next two weeks there will
be a new public release available.
The latest dev version is available at:
http://assp.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/*checkout*/assp/assp2/assp.pl.gz
ps: I never use the public version of V2 - even on the production systems
I use all the time the latest dev version!

Hi Thomas,
Yesterday i've upgraded to version 2.2.1(12196). However after a short
period (30 minutes or so), the workers became stuck again. When ASSP is
just started, all seems running smoothly. The issue arise after a short
time of running an instance.
In the GUI thread status it shows: ASSP::Senderbase::Query::results ->
<peer ip> (stuck)
Jul 24 16:42:18 lbk-gc-spam02 assp[3415]: [Main_Thread] Info: Loop in

terminate inactive/stucking Worker_3
Is this still a bug? Or is there something else wrong with my system? I
could not find this issue in the changelog, so perhaps this ain't resolved
yet?
My perl version is: perl 5, version 14, subversion 2 (v5.14.2)
The system runs ubuntu 12.04 64bits
Please let me know if I need to do some more testing.
And am I the only one experiencing this issue? If so, is there a specific
setting causing this issue? I bet most users use the SPF features of ASSP.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Regards,
Hugo

Betreff: [Assp-user] SenderBaseOK (stuck) with 2.2.1(12176)
Hi list,
Today I've updated 2 servers running ASSP 2.2.1(12137) to the latest
version 2.2.1(12176) after reading the changelog.
However after the update all workers get stuck very frequently (more like
all of the time...). It seems to be caused by the SPF/Senderbase routines.
The status page shows: SenderBaseOK (stuck)
And the log shows: warning: SenderBase: Undefined subroutine
ASSP::Senderbase::Query::inet_ntoa at sub ASSP::Senderbase::Query::new
line 6 thread 4
Reverting to the previous version resolves the issue.
What could be causing this? Is this an issue with my system? To upgrade i
just replaced the assp.pl file.
The database is shared between 2 servers (mysql replication) and the
servers are running Ubuntu 12.04
Thanks for any thoughts!
Regards,
Hugo
