You can downgrade to V1 as long as you don't need to be PCI compliant, 
since V1 has a flaw in the SSL implementation. I can agree that the 
hundreds of options can be difficult to configure if something isn't 
working correctly out of the box.  I used V1 for years and I also have 
V2 problems since day 1.  My V2 crashes once per day, but filters spam 
fine, so it seems like we have different issues.

I might add it's a little scary when one of the developers won't even 
touch V2!
