IMHO there is no need to. After an upgrade, V2 will correct all possible
V1 parameters that could be corrected, since V2 exists. Parameters that
don't exists in V2 are converted, if this makes sense or are ignored, new
parameters are set to there defaults.

result:
- all V1 features that were configured in V1 will work after an upgrade in
V2 the same way or even better
- new features must be configured
- converted features should be checked for enhancements
- files and list could be left at V1 state
- all caches should be cleaned up

The last 18 months V1 development was going to make code changes in a very
wild manner. Features IN-OUT, parameters name-renamed multiple times,
complete code parts IN-OUT-IN-MOVE-OUT-IN ... and so on!
It could be possible, that V2 misses one or two :):):) parameter
conversions

If someone finds a V1 parameter that could be converted but is not -
please tell me.

What I'll do is implementing a just in time maintained library-module (eg.
v1_upgrade.pm) which contains all the latest conversions. So I don't have
to release new versions too often.
This is just a work in progress and will be finished next week.

Thomas

Thomas, I know you're busy, but I think that putting together some text
and/or some (perl) scripts to help/ease the migration from V1 to V2
could be a good idea and greatly help users
