Not sure why older versions are not available for download. It really is 
problematic. 
Anything that packages assp must keep a copy of the sources as they cannot 
be 
fetched after the fact from SourceForge. Like I am pretty sure no version 
in Gentoo 
can be emerged/installed unless the person has the sources.

I have been keeping local copies as a result, but its not really ideal. 
After all it takes up 
space at SourceForge so if they don't care not sure why anyone else would. 
So no 
need to remove, just leave.

I was actually thinking about this myself today, if I should keep old 
sources around or 
not. To a point it does make sense to toss really old stuff. But usually 
you always keep 
older versions. Most all open source projects have sources available going 
back to the 
first release.
