Hmm... I'm not sure it's ASSP which adds the "[CR][LF].[CR][LF]"
sequence; ASSP acts as a proxy, so I'd have a look at how the sender
behaves before aiming my finger at ASSP, see, if the *sender* splits
the ending sequence, and the receiver is unable to deal with
that, there's little ASSP can do about it
