ASSP has been split up on Gentoo since ~November 2006. When I first split it up and make the package https://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/mail-filter/assp/ChangeLog?view=log https://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/mail-filter/assp/?hideattic=0 In some close to 10yrs, not that many bugs and very few if any related to splitting it up. Most were related to path issues or other things that resulted from the split up, but were minor and addressed. https://bugs.gentoo.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=CONFIRMED&bug_status=IN_PROGRESS&bug_status=RESOLVED&bug_status=VERIFIED&f0=OP&f1=OP&f2=alias&f3=short_desc&f4=CP&f5=CP&j1=OR&o2=substring&o3=substring&query_format=advanced&v2=mail-filter%2Fassp&v3=mail-filter%2Fassp Only weak code would break if you make changes to it. Good code can be modified to a variety of situations. Why anyone would have issues with FHS is beyond me... If someone was going out of their way to not be FHS compliant or had a program that could not be modified to be FHS compliant. Might need to re-approach such. FHS is a long time Linux standard most every Linux distro adheres to and requires for any packages. Splitting up the install, and not having a monolith assp.pl are very much related. No monolith install, or assp.pl.
