>Are any other Perl modules superfluous for clean V2 installs?

This depends on your configuration. Per default, the module installer
installs all modules. And all modules are loaded in to memory by assp
(except the modules, that are disabled in the config).
If a module is required by a feature, the GUI will have a hint to this
relation.

Be carefull switching off modules! You need to know what you do! If a
module is switched off, the related options and features will be swichted
off silently at the next assp start. Only the startup log will contain
some hints.

for example:

You unset 'useIOSocketSSL' and restart assp. ALL options and features
(listeners, targets, ....) which are configured to use SSL/TLS will not
work without any hint (except the startup log)!

So am I correct in assuming Mail::SPF::Query is never necessary to install

for ASSP V2 if you're doing a clean install?

Are any other Perl modules superfluous for clean V2 installs? I'm using
the list provided by ASSP's 'infostats' page, under the Perl Modules tab.

(Also apologies for misspelling your name ;))

SPF1 was the only SPF option in older V1 versions. It is provided in V2 to

support an easy upgrade.
It is recommended to use SPF2 - the default setting.

I want to make the SPF1 obsolet, but there are still too many ASSP V1
users out there.

Hi,

Fyi: if you really want to install Mail::SPF::Query you can force the
installation:

cpan[1]> force install Mail::SPF::Query

This will ignore wrong test results so the outdated tests will not block
the installation. On the other hand: is will ignore wrong test results so
only do this is you are sure you need it and it works. I did so and it
works fine for me.

Question for Herr Eckhardt: in what scenario would there be a reason to
use SPF1 instead of SPF2?

Thanks and Mr Eckhardt: keep up the good work :)

Martin

This module is only required, if you want to use SPF1 instead of SPF2.

You can ignore this install error and disable 'useMailSPFQuery' in the
module setup section.

  Hello,
I try to install the currently version of ASSP, but I get into troubles
with
Mail::SPF::Query which fails to build on 5.24.0 with errors like:

# Test 3 got: "unknown" (t/00_all.t at line 127 fail #2)
# Expected: "neutral"
# t/00_all.t line 127 is: my $ok = ok($result, $expected_
result);

I checked the cpan.org page

http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Mail-SPF-Query+1.999.1

and apparently there is currently something rotten - at least the tests
seem
to be unmaintained, maybe the whole module is. I am now wondering, is this

module used for main functionality or for some important features? If so,
will it work well with 5.24.0 or could it cause errors in ASSP?

  Best regards

  Lukas
