I am in the process of upgrading the ksh on UnixWare 7.1.4 and
OpenServer 6.0.0
to address a number of memory leaks and SIGSEGVs reported by customers
of the
last few years. The UW7 ksh was based on ksh93e. The AT&T Research
release of
ksh93t addressed most of the reported issues and a few yet encountered
on our
Unix OSs.
Most of the problems had been reported against GNU autoconf configure
scripts. I was able to identify and fix two here document end-of-buffer
bugs - similarly to the fixes in the ksh93u beta.
The ksh tests suite passes and our ksh regression tests passed. As a
final check
I put it into production on the daily OS build servers and promptly
encountered
the "configure" hang problem reported as fixed in the ksh93u beta.
Would it be possible to get the specific source changes in the ksh93u source
that addresses these two issues?
10-08-23 A bug which sometimes caused a core dump with a confgire script
has been fixed.
10-08-20 A bug in command substitution which caused a configure script to
hang has been fixed.
I would like to get something usable and reliable into the hands of our
customers
prior to the official release of ksh93u. The move to ksh93u would be
done following
its release.
