I suppose it's the fact that after _closing_ the whole clause with double
quotes and hitting <enter> the shell is _not_ supposed to answer with
PS2 asking for continuation, rather responding with PS1, ready for a
new command.
I cannot confirm that with version t+ but the poster tried two newer
releases, u+ and v+.
