Hi,

When trying to use the ksh.2008-11-04.cygwin.i386.gz executable under Cygwin 1.7.0-37 (current public beta), ksh returns "cannot execute [Permission denied]" when attempting to execute any application, whether a Cygwin or Windows native application.

I have no such problem running the above ksh executable under Cygwin 1.5.25-15.

Are there any settings which could fix this problem and allow the use of ksh under Cygwin 1.7?

Or does ksh need to be recompiled under Cygwin 1.7? If so, is there any chance such a binary could be posted for download on http://www.research.att.com/sw/download/ now so ksh can be part of the public beta testing of Cygwin 1.7 rather than waiting for the final release of 1.7 expected this Spring?

The Cygwin 1.7 public beta includes bash and zsh executables, but interestingly neither one changed from Cygwin 1.5 to 1.7: i.e. the same bash and zsh executables are being distributed and work with Cygwin 1.5 and 1.7.

Holiday Greetings,
Lawrence
