Can anyone suggest how I can get around the following install problem I am
having.

Up until this month I had uwin-base.2007-11-05.win32.i386.exe running just fine
on my Win XP laptop. I'm not aware of any chnges preceeding this but suddenly
I could not start ksh. I no longer recall the exact message. I could not run
the uninstall either. I manually removed everything from the registry that had
uwin in the key. I cannot remove the keys that have "legacy" and uwin in them.
I had to run a bootable linux to remove the \program files\uwin directory from
the windows drive. I do not see any uwin services running and yet when I try
to run the install it fails with these 2 messages:

A long beep happens and the message box: init.exe - Application Error: The
application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to
terminate the application.

Also this message: UWIN Setup: UWIN installation failed with exit status 256

Is there any way I can reinstall uwin?

Claude
