although www2. works, I would like to know why www. does not
(because the www. name is supposedly permanent and the www2. name
is really a configuration artifact that may be transient)
can a few users send me off-list the output of
wget -v http://www.research.att.com/sw/download/
I'd like to compare the outputs of the ones that work vs the ones that fail
