Glenn, there is a 3rd bug in xargs: 3. Aborting xargs using ^C in interactive shell sessions takes very long, e.g. xargs --max-lines=1 printf "x%sx\n" < <(ls -1R /usr/share/) | wc -l then ^C takes minutes for a shell prompt to show again.
