I am trying to move files for a storage folder that meet a certain
condition. The files are to moved to a nas storage device attached to the
originating server as a drive. The script is below.

What happens is when the directories are moved to the new location they end
up defined as block devices with major and minor nodes. If I run the same
job to a local drive on the originating computer the directories show up as
directories. I've looked through the options for pax and wasn't able to
find anything that would cause this or allow a modification to stop it.

I'm hopeful that someone can shed some light on this.

TIA,

Script:
DRIVE1=/f/
#DRIVE2=/f/pax_test/ <- this is the local drive line commented out.
DRIVE2=/r/pax_test/
SHARE=$1
export DRIVE1 DRIVE2 SHARE
LIST=$SHARE"_list"
mkdir $DRIVE2$SHARE
touch -amt 0901010000.01 /r/6-1-09
cd $DRIVE1$SHARE
find . -depth -not -newer /r/6-1-09 -print> $DRIVE2$LIST
find . -depth -not -newer /r/6-1-09 -print|pax -rw $DRIVE2$SHARE

This is the result of running the script to the mapped drive on the nas:
$ cd /r/pax_test/osp
$ ls -l
total 2

This is the result of running the script to a drive on the local machine:
$ cd /f/pax_test/osp
$ ls -l
total 2
