I'm very interested in Asterisk PBX and have successfully installed it in my home with 2 SIP phonesets. After further studying this system, I find its functions are very useful in small business office. My questions:
1. May I install it in my company office for internal use?
Of course, it's open source.
2. If possible, may I do some further development to sell this system? Who should I pay for the license and how much?
Please do further development and contribute it back to the community! As long as you are using it yourself, you don't have to pay a license.
If you *sell* Asterisk with your own additions, you either have to
give the source code of your additions away to the buyer under the GPL license and he can do whatever he wants to do with it - or buy a commercial license from Digium and thus get the commercial rights to the software and the right to sell your customized version.
