The AG's suit is NOT about failure to have adequate 911 service.
It IS:
"...for failing to make clear to consumers that the companyâs current service does not include access to traditional emergency 9-1-1 service..."
The action was filed under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. http://www.oag.state.tx.us/oagNews/release.php?id=850
If you do business in Texas, you should read the Act. http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/BC/content/htm/bc.002.00.000017.00.htm
Violations call for treble damages.

Anyone else running into this? I am at a loss as to why the municipalities continue this, when the TX attorney general wants to turn around and sue V for not having adequate 911 service.
I've spent some time working with Intrado for their V911 service, and now that I'm with Digium I expect there may be some official support in Asterisk soon for it. If you haven't talked to them about it, do so right away... it's very clean, inexpensive and requires no changes at the PSAPs for support.
